I originally received this quote via email from one of many mailing lists to which I subscribe. I think that the source of the quote was the Mac-Evangelist, and the sender sent the quote in order to talk about how wonderful Macs are.
I too think Macs are wonderful, .... but I think this Emerson quote describes Yale more effectively than it describes Macintosh Computers.
Hence, I repeat the quote here ...
To laugh often and much To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics And endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. --Emerson
Yale helped me breathe. I will be grateful eternally.
