Memory Collection

Please Submit Yours!

Ideally, i would like this space to be used as a repository for all of our fond memories of Yale.

From December 31, 1995 (when I built this site) until May 10, 1998, however, all that lived here were my own memories. Finally, a kind soul added his to the pile.

Be like him. Please collect whatever memories, stories, laughs, pictures, sound bites, ... anything you have of yale that you would like shared, and we can all enjoy them together right here.

Submitting is easy. Just email me at mars@bossanova.com.

I thank [name omitted] for rehashing that wonderful memory.

One other one that stands out is also from high school. One popular thing to do was steal fire extinguishers. One day, Yale, Dave and I got one from a store in Braeswood Square (Strip shopping mall gone bad).

We came apon a young boy walking on the street, who asked us, "Where is the fire?"

Yale opend up the nozzle and let him have it. "Right here, dude."

He will be truly missed.

Second-most-recent submission (name omitted by request):

rebecca, hi! i have heard about your tribute to yale from all of my friends. today is my first visit. very impressive and nice of you.

as you know, i was friends with yale dating back to elementary school. we spent a lot of time together and there are many funny stories to relate. it will take some time to remember them.

one night, yale, doug dow (yale's cousin), a guy named jeff and i went out. we were about 15 years old at the time and yale was the only friend we had with a driver's license. of course, there's nothing to do when you are 15, so we got stoned and went to the mall.

doug and i somehow got separated from yale and jeff. we walked around for at least an hour before we found yale.

when we first saw him, you have to picture this, he was walking about one hundred feet away from us. in each hand he was carrying a ziplock bag full of water. he looked like a freak walking through the mall like that. we asked him what he was doing and he said he had to take out his contacts because they had gotten dry.

amazingly, he insisted on driving home, and we let him. he drove about five miles an hour the whole way saying "i'm not wearing my contacts, so i have to go slow."

it was very funny at the time and still is one of my favorite memories of yale. i will send you pictures of yale if i can find any. hopefully, the stories will get better. if you ever post anything of mine on the net, please delete my last name. thanx.

And, still here, by popular request: a typical email exchange that i used to have with yale.(this is real, forwarded from my netcom address .... )

right wing chick's book on pornography.)

[yale's last e-mail to me ... in typical supportive yale style]:

Hey, what's Orly's last name and phone number?

Those were real, by the way. Entirely real. Sigh ... still miss Yale, I do.
